A flock of birds visited our backyard yesterday. They were maddeningly out of reach, for the cat, who sat there staring for a good hour.

Media: Watercolour and black ink on watercolour paper.

Ah this is wonderful, our cat did this all the time when he was younger, and he'd let out little frustrated miaows.. Come down and let me eat you!

The watercolor really ads a kind of sinister feel to it , tis great

:3 I love how I can actually see the frustration in the cat despite the fact that it's just a silhouette.

Heh. I've gotten used to seeing frustration in just a silhouette; my cat is often thwarted by birds, and is black (with a little white on her stomach). :D
Our cat has given up on the birds, now, and instead does after possums! They're quite a bit larger than her (and definitely with sharper claws), so the miaows she lets out now are a little more alarming. :XD:

Cats: a never ending source of amusement. :)
oooh haha that explains it xD

A definite truth!

i love how that splotch of watercolor ended up looking like a tree that emphasizes the height difference of the birds from the cat.

the neutrality it makes...just lovely XD and to think it's just a sketch. just wonderful XD
